Fire Chief Paul Doughty

The Town of St. Albans is proud to recognize Fire Chief Paul Doughty for his outstanding contributions and continued leadership in the fire service. Chief Doughty has been invited, for multiple consecutive years, to deliver a keynote presentation at the State of Maine Fire Chiefs’ Association Professional Development Conference held at Sunday River Resort—an honor that reflects his expertise and reputation within the field.
With over 40 years of experience in the fire service, including more than 30 years in leadership roles specializing in special operations, technical rescue, and homeland security, Chief Doughty is exceptionally qualified to present on “Chaos in Command: A Fire Chiefs’ Guide to Legal & Tactical Survival.” His selection as a keynote speaker underscores the high regard in which he is held by his peers.
The Town of St. Albans Fire Department has been fortunate to benefit from Chief Doughty’s dedication and leadership throughout his distinguished career. He has progressed through the ranks—serving as a firefighter, Training Officer, Lieutenant, Assistant Chief, and Deputy Chief—before being appointed Fire Chief in February 2025.
