Information for Dog Owners
If you own or keep a dog that is six months of age or older, or within 10 days of moving to town, you are required to license your dog. Your dog must be licensed by January 31st every year. Please come to the Town Office to license your dog.
You will need to bring a current Maine rabies certificate and if your dog has been spayed or neutered, bring verification from the veterinarian. The fee is $11.00 for unaltered dogs (dogs that have not been fixed) and $6.00 for altered dogs (dogs that have been fixed).
Dogs licensed after January 31st will have a $25.00 late fee in addition to cost of the license. Don’t wait! License you Dog ASAP!
All dog renewals must be completed by December 31st. if you are licensing a wolf hybrid, service/search or rescue dog or obtaining a kennel license please contact your Town Clerk at 938-4568.
Certified Birth, Death, and Marriage certificates
Certified Birth, Death, and Marriage certificates are $15 each and $6.00 for each additional copy purchased at that time.
To apply for marriage intentions the fee is $40.00. You must bring your certified divorce decrees if applicable, and both of the parties must be present with ID to apply. Please allow up to an hour to complete.
